    Hi~

My computer was infected with the Antispyware Soft virus.
I did some research online and I ran Hijack This and then selected a O4 thread that had tssd.exe from the scan results to be fixed (or deleted?).
Unsure if I removed the virus from my system completely, I followed the site's Malware Removal guide and came up with some logs.

My computer was not clean as Superantispyware detected the Antispyware Soft virus and now I'm worried and confused.

Attached are the logs...would the computer gurus please look over them and give me some advice? Thanks so much.

I tried to run the RootRepeal program but an error message kept on coming up:

FOPS - DeviceIoControl Error! Error Code = 0xc0000024
    Extended Info (0x000000dc)

Thus, this is the only log I do not have.

Also, my ComboFix log has some Chinese characters...sorry...

    Please help me~~~
Thank you very much for your time and expertise.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You need to update you Vista version to SP2 asap. You are running a very old version and this is not safe. You should update as recommended in my instructions at the end of this message since you are now clean.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: NCO 2.0 IE BHO - {602ADB0E-4AFF-4217-8AA1-95DAC4DFA408} - (no file)
    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {7FEBEFE3-6B19-4349-98D2-FFB09D4B49CA} - (no file)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

I strongly advise you to cleanup your Desktop. Remove eveything but links to run programs. Do not download and save programs here and defintely do not use it for long term storage. You need to keep ComboFix.exe here for now as we need it, but we will be removing it when we are finished with your cleanup. A cluttered Desktop is malware's playground and it can also cause performance degradation especially when you start saving large files here like you are doing.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Chaslang, thanks so much for your quick response and expert help.

I am currently working on step 10 of your instructions.

I will cleanup my desktop afterward because that will take some time to do.

Can you help me make sure everything is ok after I finish step 10?

    What logs should I attach?

    Please let me know.

Thank you so much once again!!

    You're welcome.

Once you have gotten to step 10, you have already uninstalled the MGtools program which would be the only log we would need to look at. You would have to redownload it and run a new scan to attach a new log which means you would have to later rerun step 8 again after we review your logs.
