Help--Cannot connect to web.

I have a laptop that will not recognize any connections to the net, either wireless or with the cable. As a result, I cannot update virus scan to see if that is the issue.

The computer is running slow, but the major concern is the no connection.

Thoughts?

I am new here and have done a search, but I truly do not have the background to know if this virus, malware, etc....

(Edit) I am working on the read me and run me first fixes.

 

New problem, cannot run spybot because it will not update. . .

thoughts??
