I was attempting to download a new ActiveX program to view some latest flash movie when i contracted a virus I believe. The program that it said to have downloaded on to my Lap top is something called Virus Heat. I did not see this in the list of rogue Spyware removers, but it is clearly a problem for it has completely disabled my computer. I can not go on it long enough to do a scan, for it completely crashes with in a few minutes, even in Safe mode. I need desparate help to fix this issue, or should I simply call it quits. If there is anyone who knows of this problem, please help me. You can post on this thread or send me an email, at <email address removed to protect from spammers> Thank you so much.

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Try the below guide and the specific one for your operating system, do all the cleanup steps and then try with the scans, while I do note that you may not be able to do online scans, do give them a try, if they fail, do move onto the next set of scans, as our malware experts will need at least the MGLogs.zip set of scans to help you.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

I attempt to go through the read and run me first. My computer end up crashing before I could download the Ccleaner. Now I cant even start it up. Is it completely fried? Is there any hope of saving it.

If it will not even boot up, there is not much we can do for you in the malware removal forum. You may want to post in the Software Forum. Things to determine before posting in the Software Forum are:
    • can you boot to last known good configuration
    • can you boot in safe boot mode
    • do you have your Windows CD so you can possible perform a repair
