Help! Cant locate the malware but comp acting strange

I happened to run some songs from a CD. I think a virus or something has jumped onto my system And these things happened:

1. Opening a IE interrupts the winamp/online music player. The system is brand new.
2. Sometimes when i click on links in wikipedia, i get a prompt "save as" and its a "document" extension. I havent tried to save it, lest it cause more problems.
3. yahoo answers always crashes, says problems encountered then "debug" close. no such problem with any other site.
4. i think the cursor/pointer is having problems when it turns to the I shape (text select mode),its turned white!

I have done a scan using Symantec, nothing has come up.
I played those mp3 files using media player.

It really does not sound like you are having malware problems. But the best way for us to know that is by having you do the below.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
