HELP! Can't Open Files....

So recently my computer was attacked by a bunch of spyware and virus stuff, which started off with a browser hijacker (speed search?)...I ran Ad-aware and Norton, went through my computer manually in safe mode, and think i got rid of everything.
However
Whenever I try to open ANY files on my computer I get a Windows Explorer error message, it does let me open certain programs on my desktop (winamp,internet explorer) but no files....Has anyone ever heard of this problem? or Can anyone help me? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

 

I have the same problem. All my executable files have their extensions changed to .ink and hence it could not be opened. I tried downloading spybot from the net and while trying to open the program, the following error message pops up:

"An external application must be launched to handle this file: links. Requested links:

file:///F:%5CSM%5Cvirus%20killer%5Cspybotsd13.exe

If you are not expecting this request it may be an attempt to exploit weakness in that other program. Cancel this request unless you are sure it is not malicious."

What should I do to get my programs working again?
