Help Chaslang, please

    I am in the process of rigorously following the pre-posting work, but have a problem. Adaware will not update my definitions which are 412 days old. (And I loaded a new copy of adaware).

    symptoms: nothing awful, but i've going to bad sites and want to get this thing clean.

    I also have a "socket #11004" when trying to update SpybotSD. And I don't think it updated at all.

    The microsoft defender is 161 days old and won't update either.

    Ok...I'm stuck now. I assume that I need to fix these update issues before progressing to step 6?
