help - cube multimedia connectors??

hi there, i am back again with another query. Hope you can help.

I bought a cube pc on ebay a while back and have decided to get it up and running for a customer. The cube case doesn't have a name but on the front there is a cdrw drive (there being only one drive bay), bass+ bass- mute volume+ volume- buttons, an lcd display with changing colours and the temp? under this there is a flap and inside, the ports are - 2xusb 1, mic, headphone, firewire. My problem is that all these ports and buttons do not work. I have tried to open up the case and remove the drives but a screw has lost its holding and i cannot remove it. hubby reckons he can get it out but i need to know whether the board i have will support all these buttons or is this board the wrong one for this case???? when i took the case off i could see that the leads from the front of the case were bunched together and not connected to anything.please help. My motherboard is a via VT8601 viavpsd.

 

just another point, i also received a very basic remote control as the cube is supposed to be a standalone cd player also but although there is a small round hole on the front of the case it would appear there is nothing in there!
