HELP! Desktop Is Hijacked

Hello,
I have been reading and reading on how to fix this and not having any luck.
My desktop is hijacked. I cant right click and go to properties and if flashes from white to gray. What do I do?

 

Can someone please help me with this?

First, please follow ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

After doing ALL of the above if you still have a problem:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the ZIP file as your backups will not be safely stored.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gifBefore running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

I tried to follow the steps in that post. It did not work. And I don't understand why. I tried it twice.

 

Procede with the rest of my steps please, attach a current HJT log from normal mode.

 

Thank you but, I could not take it anymore and backed up my files to the laptop and now tring to do a non-destructive system recovery. I am prepaired to do a full reformat if needed. Thanks for your reply.

 

This is a fairly easy infection to remove buts its up to you.
