Help Enabling "Identd" for IRC

Hey guys, im trying to connect to an IRC server, but everytime, it says Identd request failed, and disconnects, how do I enable it when behind a router?

 

Try changing your nick to ABCD1234, works?

 

Also, make sure your Port 113 isn't being blocked by a firewall. Identd is a service running on your machine.

 

Vlad-before connecting I typed /nick ABCD1234 and then tried connecting, is that what you mean? because that didnt work.

I bet it is something with my router, but I do not know what is causing it, I told it to open port 113, my router is the Dlink DI-614+ if that helps.

 

Usually when I get identd problems it's just that my nick is taken... (GHOST! Take that )

 

naw it is a router problem....I pluggd into my modem and it worked fine....

 

Well, usually opening it isn't good enough. Try forwarding it to your IP. IIRC, that's "Virtual Server" in D-Link.

Do you have Identd enabled in mIRC?

I have all four boxes checked (mIRC 6.03), and my User ID and System are "WinNT". My email address specified under Connect is bogus, but it is a valid email address format: "user@host.com".
