    Heloo,
Its comes the time agin when I have to ask the experts! I dont' have any major spyare problems but eery now and again, maybe even as little as once a day I get my IE browser closing. A new window with and Errorsafe add pops up. Its getting fairly annoying at this stage...but its a lot worse on my desktop because it tries to install and launcehs a few popups. I'll ty do the online scans for that soon but i have limited access to it at the mo so it mite take longer. But at the mo the offline scans(Windows Defender, Spybot etc.) are giving nothing.
As is the case with my laptop except for Ad-Aware removing a few tracking cookies, but the online scans cant find anyhing either bar 1 tracking cookie!also i had to do my online scans in normal mode because my lappy is wireless and it didn work in safe mode. I'll attach them anyway and he HJT files etc.
Oh also i searched ur forms for errorsafe and downloaded ewido which removed a good few tings(mostly cookies) but it didnt fix he problem and i ave since uninstalled.

I hope ye guys can se something I can't!
    appreciate any help!

Your logs do not show any signs of malware. I do however question one file that was seen in the newfiles.txt log. Do you know what the below file is that was created on June 1, 2006

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ERUpdateHidden.EXE

I had a look at the file and it come from mircosoft. The original filename was WEXTRACT.EXE, i looked on the net and got that this is s Win32 Cabinet Self-Extractor. I dont no if this is ture or ot, and I dont no why it would have been renamed. Oh and I dint have this laptop on 1st of June anyway, its brand new! I have it about a month.

Ya i couldnt see anything in the scans either, and ive a felling my Desktop is the same. Plus the frequency of popups were so low i dit expect to find them...so i dont no whats going on! I dont no why im getting these popups...and i got the exact same one in a web cafe last week, its like its following me around lol:)
Mybe its a site, it seems to come up more when I use bebo.com, but I have seen it come up on others

I ran it and it found nothing in both the normal scan and deep scan. But I couldn't save a report, the option was greyed out.

I've got round to doing the online scans and have the logs for my desktop too, should I post these here in this thread? Maybe they'll shed some light...

I'm not sure what you are talking about. You already attach logs from the online scanners in your first two messages and they showed nothing.

I still don't know what you are talking about. We only work on one PC in a thread. What PC were we working on in messages # 1 & 2?

:) Ok i think theres some major wires being crossed here!

    1. So far ALL posts have related to my laptop.

    2. I only mentioned my desktop because I am having the same problems with that, I have not posted any logs for it, or posted anything related to it

I mentioned the scans for my desktop, wondering if i shud post them seperately or not because it's the exact same problem. But I thought maybe they might help this case because there doesnt seem to be any signs on my laptop.

Also i dont know if its worth mentioning my laptop connects wirelessy through a router connected to my desktop/modem, and the two compuers are in the same workgroup

Hopefully everything is cleared up now!

Okay so since this thread is for your laptop and in message # 8 you said:
then I assume we are done with your laptop. Is that correct?

I guess so, although I am quite curious as to why it has stopped...
I mean the scans found nothing and removed nothing.. .weird

Anyway I suppose I shoudn't complain!! Thanks for the help!:)
So should I post my desktop in a new thread?

I cannot answer why either since you said none of the other scans found anything.

    You're welcome.

Yes it would be best to start a new thread for your Desktop if it is having malware problems. Make sure you attach all the required logs and indicate what problems you are having.
