help find a program to...

...cut out parts in an image to later add into other images. i've tried Face Off Max and Aerocut Pro and while they're both pretty good i'd like a little better, i'm not big on the idea of using any of the big graphics programs like adobe, corel.. ect.. i would just like a small little app that'll allow me to do this.

usually i find that for every awesome, expensive, piece of software out there there's usually a perfect and most of the time far superior program to do exactly what i need found on sourceforge but either i'm not using the right words to search or one doesn't exist, which i don't believe because everyone on sourceforge is amazing!!

so if anyone is familiar with what i want to do and knows a few apps i could try i'd really appreciate the help.

GIMP may be the program you are looking for but never having used it i can not say how good the results are.

Paint.Net doesn't exactly do what i'm talking about, unless i just haven't figured out what to do.? idk.. what i'm talking about is the magic wand tool, the app i tried before was kinda like the magic wand but instead of just outlining it "snapped to" the actual pixies of the part of the image i wanted to cut out.. i have to say tho i will be keeping Paint.Net installed i love it, i absolutely hate having to use a resource hog program to do simple things and Paint.Net is advanced enough that i could use it for most everything i'd probably ever need actually so definitely Thank you for the suggestion.
