Help for school

Greetings everyone,

I stumbled upon this site after days of trying to fix my computer. Can anyone tell me where and how to start fixing it?

Basically I get tons of popups now that I never did before. When I try to access certain sites I get the message "IE cannot display the webpage". I need to access these pages for school. I've run ad-aware, spybot, webroot and windows defender all to no avail. When I try to update windows defender I get the message "Error code: 0x80072efd the program can't check for updates" I get the same message when other programs attempt to update.

I believe I have a problem with "troy44.exe" as one of the spaware programs picked it up but can't remove it.

Would it help if ran a hijack this log and posted it here?

I would apreciate any suggestions and thanks in advance!

Just a follow-up...
I ran fix vundo as advised in another thread and vundo said it couldn't remove 2 files. It rebooed but I am still getting pop-ups and can't access webpages.

If the popups have names, please do mention what they are headed as?

But do run the below as its the clearest and most straight forward way to clean up your PC, once completed attach the requested logs, malware and some popups may still be on your PC, but this is normal as some malware is stubborn, hence the logs as these will highlight the malware types you have so our malware experts can issue you some further removal instructions baised on your PC and the type of malware infection.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
