    Hi,
I run windows 2000, whenever I open a folder or IE, I am getting a message 'your system is in danger virus affected - you want to scan', if I say yes or no it directs to one of the website 'freevirusscan' then prompting to download ie-av.exe - pls help me how to get rid off this.
I can also see an smss.exe in the Taskmanager , I can't delete that, it says it is an important system process.
Scanned in safe mode(with norton), and also deleted all the files in the temp folder and TempInternet folder etc, but no luck.

    Rgds
