    Hello all,

I was wondering whether you could help me with the strangest problem.

I am trying to access the URL: www.ausit.org but cannot. I work for AUSIT as an administrator and need to get to the site. The other people I work with in other parts of the country (Australia) have emailed me to say they can access the site, but I can't. I get redirected to a site called 'Domainsnext' which is the place where the person who manages the AUSIT site reregistered the domain name recently. The site was down briefly yesterday, but everyone tells me it is back up now. While the site was down I did some other surfing, including using the 'domainsnext' site to look up potential domain names for use. Could this be the cause of the problem?

I try accessing the AUSIT site through my favourites, through normal browsing, through different browsers - still no luck. I have emailed the 'Domainsnext' site (they seem to be a legitimate site) but no luck from their support crew as yet. I can access all other sites on the web as per normal.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?

I am running Win98 on a Pentium II processor with 256MB RAM and a 40GB hard drive.

    Cheers,

    Bronya

    Hi

I would first off clear your temp internet folder and cookies, and run the following to clear your DNS cache,

Open a Command Prompt Windows ( start > run > type cmd and hit enter is easy way ) then type or cut and past this text in bold ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter.

then try again with the website.

    Hey,

    Thanks Halo.

It seems however that the problem is with my ISP, as other people using different servers can access the site. Apparently my ISP's DNS has not updated as fast as the other ones (or something like that).

    Thanks again for your help.

    Cheers,

    Bronya
