This file comes up everytime i play Football Manager, causing the gamr to crash amongst other things. I have done all the scans and ran all the programs as suggested in the tutorials. I have attached a copy of my hijack this log...any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

And what happens if you simply boot to safe mode and delete:

    C:\DOCUME~1\Damien\LOCALS~1\Temp\~e5.0001

    Does it come back?

Is Football Manager an Electronic Arts product?

Never mind it's a Sega product.

It may also be possible to just change the file attributes of the ~e5.0001 file so that it is not Read Only. And then play your game. I do not believe this is a malware problem. This file seems to keep appearing only for users playing games.

    Chaslang,

This question should be dumped off to the tech support of the PC gaming industry. I believe the file is a type of swap file. I keep forgetting to ask if the user is running out of space on the hard drive where the file resides. Plus, we don't know if they are shutting down Spyware/Antivirus/Firewall programs while playing the games --- unless they are online gaming. That is still a lot of extra processing taking place.

I've tried doing the things you suggested but it keeps re-appearing. I play the game online with a couple of friends but i haven't diabled any antivirus/firewall software. Is there anything else you can suggest doing?

    Thanks

How large is your C:\ partition? How much space is left?

Since this problem is related not a malware related problem, I am going to move it to the Gaming Forum. You may have better luck working the problem there where other gamers can help you.

Other than that, I would suggest contacting the company who sells the software and ask them what the problem is.

By the way did you change the files attibutes to not be Read Only. Do not delete it. Just change the file attribute and see what happens when you play.
