help, help i need help

hello, thanks for trying to help!
My pc wont boot properly, it only get past the log on screen, then goes
blank, but task manager can be started and programs run.
Event viewer states

EVENT_BOOT_SYSTEM_DRIVERS_FAILED

and that i need to reinstall, but how do i do this? sorry a complete novice.
Verify that the drivers are configured correctly. - how do i do this???


this virus was picked up (when i last closed my computer) by antivir

AntiVir has detected a virus 'Worm/Backterra.D' in the file C:\SYSTEM VOLUME
INFORMATION\_RESTORE{68DCCD3E-2073-4915-A5DC-A445A55876AD}\RP183\A0059133.EXE

The program was meant to wipe the virus, but now the computer wont start,
any help would be appreciated, but please simple instructions only, thanks

SFC cannot be done in Safe Mode.

I'll reserve further suggestions until the poster tries Safe Mode.

 

thanks, i managed to load a new virus program - avast, seems a bit better than antivir, and that got rid of it on startup,
