Hello, I just got internet service 2 days ago and I belive my computer has been affected by a virus. I have downloaded McAfee Virus Scan and the icons that were linked to the virus on my desktop have been removed. However, I cannot locate by local C: drive and next to my clock on my taskbar there is this message "VIRUS ALERT!"
Can anyone help me please? I am running Windows XP.
    Thanks

    Hi MsNewman,
    Welcome to Major Geeks!

If you go into Windows Explorer, is your C drive missing there?

Please go through the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST and attach the requested logs.

    Hello Abri,
Thanks for your prompt response. Yes, my C: drive is missing from explorer. I was trying to follow all the instructions but I was having a hard time downloading CC Cleaner. It finally worked but I had to leave for work so I will continue with the process and post the logs as requested tonight. Thank you so much
