Help! I don't know what's causing this!

Screen keeps on going to black with keystrokes, use of the mouse, changing screens, etc. Images are intermittently distorted. I started with the "run me first" and got through Counterspy and Spybot scans, quarantined everything. Then I began to wonder if this was a hardware problem?

Any input appreciated. I am a medical transcriptionist who gets paid by production and I can't even work at this point. :cry

Give us some info about yuor comp.Check your driversin device manager.Maybe your graphic card cause this problem

Next time you get the pc working for a bit SAVE ALL IMPORTANT DATA somewhere else, then worry about getting the pc back. As Goran says, give us some information.

Try booting to safe mode to save your data and test if the problem still occurs. To get there tap F8 repeatedly as the pc boots.

Also report if the light on the screen case goes to the off colour when the black screen occurs. That is does the system suffer loss of video signal to the screen?

Quarantined everything? Sounds like your system may have the creeping crud. Scan Disk and System File Check if you can, you may need your OS disk for the latter. Do you use a firewall and antivirus? Is Windows updated? What Operating System are you using, XP, ME, 98SE? How old is the computer, monitor. Have you checked in Device Manager? Have you installed any new hardware, software recently? Will msconfig open? Can you boot into safemode? Checked monitor connections? Just a few thoughts.
