I have a raidmax cobra wide body case, samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd, wd blue 1tb hard drive, vengeance lpx ddr4 16 gig ram, rx5500xt pgd 8go gpu and a aresgame black cube agt1000 1000 watt psu. I am looking for what else I need to complete this build. These components were donated to me with all being used except the psu.

That being said, what motherboard and processor would be compatible with these existing parts?

    Thanks in advance

At this point (until you narrow down your decisions), the only thing you need to worry about is the RAM. If you are set on using that RAM, you will first need to find a compatible motherboard that will support it. Once you find that (and there will be a wide variety of choices), then you will need to see which CPUs that board supports.

To start, you need to determine your budge.

Then you need to decide if you want to go with AMD or Intel processors. Don't let anyone tell you one is better than the other. Both make great CPUs and your components will work with either. No one brand has the best in every category or price point.

Then you need to decide on which motherboard brand you want. I like Gigabyte, ASUS, MSI but there certainly are others brands that make good, reliable boards.

If you are willing to buy new RAM, perhaps DDR5 RAM, and a more modern motherboard to go with that RAM, the rest of your components will work just fine. And for sure, that 1000W PSU will support just about anything you throw at it - at least in theory.

But I do cast doubt on the quality of that Aresgame PSU, however. I cannot find a decent review on that specific 1kW model, but tom's Hardware reviews for their Aresgame AGS750 and Aresgame AGS850 both suggest their published specs stretch the truth a bit. :( At least they have a 10 year warranty, but if they cannot provide a stable enough output, over all computer stability will suffer too.
