Ok, now don't refer me to the spyware forum because that isn't my problem, even though it shall be mentioned in this post.

Now I went through the steps of the spyware forum, got all the system cleaning programs, completely fixed my problem.
Only thing is, I went too far and went into the windows folder and deleted somethings. A lot of stuff wasn't picked up by the software that I downloaded, and I deleted a lot of spyware I found in the folder.
However it seems that I deleted a registry file; but I did scan reg, and restored the computer to its original state before I deleted the file.
Now everything is fine, not experiencing anymore freezing, and my explorer.exe file is back in "closing programs."

Despite all that, there is a problem and it is with my network drivers.
Now I have DSL with verizon, and i've already called them regarding the problem. Everytime I try to surf on internet explorer I get this message "Internet explorer can't open search page." if it is a search page.
Or it goes to some "server not found" site, even though I have my internet options set to detect network settings. This applies to all my internet applications and software.

Software like instant messaging applications, video games, etc. Verizon told me that when I restored the system to its original state, that I might have removed some drivers. They said that I would need to disable "Wins configuration" and reinstall the drivers, which might fix the problem. However I don't have my Windows Millenium Disk (That is the operating system i'm using), and I only have a bootdisk that I got from www.bootdisk.com (Alt1). Also, some programs don't seem to be working, probably because of the restore or deleted files.

Lol, finally, sorry for the long drawn out description of everything.
My questions are, how do I restore the drivers without having the Windows Me cd. How do I get the drivers if I need them? and last question, does it really have something do with the drivers?

    Extra Information:
    OS- Windows Millenium
    Connection method: DSL
Network Card: from what it says in network adapters, "RealtekRTL8139(A/B/C/8310) PCI Fast Ethernet NIC.

You probably deleted by a mistake one of Windows native files. If it is So you need the original Windows CD to replenish the OS, and reconfigure Internet/Network settings,

Windows ME was always on the "Low Side" when comes to Network/Internet OS, in addition there is no more big release of security patches liked there are for WinXP.

    1. You can call Microsoft and plead a case may be they would send you a WinME disk.

    2. You might find someone that is willing to sell you CD and Lic. Of WinME,Win98SE, or Win2000 for little money.

    3. I would use the occasion to upgrade to WinXP.
