Help!! laptop not booting in any mode

Ok lets see if i can describe whats happening.....I have an MSI mini laptop model# MS-N011 has winxp home edition installed on it...the battery had lost its charge, and after we pluged it in and charged it and turned it on it would go to the winxp screen then you would catch a blue screen then imediaetly go to the "we apologize" screen with safe mode and last known config and start normally. Does not matter what you pick it goes in a repeat cycle of start up screen to "we are sorry" screen.... Even tried the f8 to go into advanced mode and still wont do anything.......need help or advice on where to start with this problem.......thanks

 

So your booting up in safe mode and it restarts your system? Sounds like a corrupt or missing system/ file. If this is the case you will need a windows xp repair/installion dvd.

 

I may be wrong and it's only a minor point, but as far as I know WinXP only came on CD, not DVD.

 

I'm sorry yes cd, but I was referring mainly to a reinstall/or clean install of your operating system.

 

Yes, I agree with you on the repair/clean install of the OS. I just didn't want anyone to needlessly scare the OP into thinking that they had to have a DVD drive to install WinXP.

well unfortunaetly the laptop comes with no internal drives so i will need to find an external cd drive plus a winxp cd to fix this??

 

and to clarify the system wont boot to any mode......safe, normal, advanced........nothing
