Hey everyone. I'm new to this site. I've read up a little on things. I know there is one file in my program files that is bad, but as of yet i can't get rid of it. I've downloaded hijack this and run it. please take a look and give me some suggestions please!!! the name of the folder in my program files is: Dl_Cats. Here's the logfile.

Quarantine item removal

Ok. I admit it. I'm a clicking idiot. I posted a HTlog last night before I read anything. I'm currently going thru the steps in the read this and I cannot seem to find a way to delete the quarantined items in Norton 360. Is there any help for this???

Do you have a Lexmark printer? I assume so as that's what the folder relates to. You could also have a folder entitled lx_cats

“tracking software” for “reporting printer and cartridge use back to the company for survey purposes” In order to remove Lexmark’s spyware from your system, delete the file (probably in your C: program directory) called “lx_cats.exe”, and also search for and remove a file called “lx_cats.ini” (and, for that matter, any other file including the term “lx_cats”).

Are you having any actual malware problems? If so then you need to attach all the requested logs. We do not rely solely upon a HJT log, we need to look deeper and the other tools you that you run will generate logs which will let us do that.

Your two threads have been merged together to prevent any confusion. In answer to you above question regarding quarantined files:

Go to>Start>Search>All files and folders> type 'quarantine'. After all the results come up, scroll down until you see a line with Norton in it. This will lead you to the Norton Quarantine folder. Open it, select all contents of the folder, delete.
