Help laptop won't work!

Hey guys I have a major problem

I have an LG-L65 Laptop (I really regret getting an LG)

I came back from a one week trip went to turn on my laptop and it wouldn't work

so then I persisted and it finally did


I was watching something on VLC when all of a sudden it went green and the sound went weird and the whole computer shut down

ever since I can't even get it to power up

I took it to this laptop place they said it could be the RAM now they are claiming the whole motherboard is blown

is it possible that there is an other alternative, what should I do?

It makes a sort of clockey like noise when I turn it on, and it won't load past the first LG bit

first, try it without the battery, and plugged in through AC adapter. if it's still finicky, try removing the hard drive, and see if it will at least boot to the point of not finding a hard drive/Operating system. If that's the case, get a bootable live cd,
linux http://www.knoppix.net/
, or UBCD http://majorgeeks.com/Ultimate_Boot_CD_d4019.html
, and see if it will boot. did the place say if they tried different RAM? If you have 2 sticks, try taking one out, and only boot with 1 stick in.

 

did you over heat it and fry something? gotta pay attention to the surface that you have a laptop on. the fans are usually on the bottom...
