Help - Lost Email Messeges In Thunderbird

Greetings Geeks -

Somehow my Thunderbird email account went willienille. Poof, gone. All messages, all setting information, etc. The program was fine, just everything was done.

I reentered my account info, it seems to be working fine now. But . . . . all of previous messages are gone. Is there a way to retrieve them? How about my contact list?
