    Hello all
I have done most of the steps as outlined before posting. I could not view hidden files because explorer wasnt letting me. I clicked view all files and the two boxes below to see the files but it did not work at all. Also I could not run BitDefender or Panda scan because activex controls on this computer is not working. When I tried bitdefender, it said to install activex but there was no bar on the top to click on. I manually went into internet explorer to try to enable activex but could not. Other than that I have cleaned the comp as much as I could with the tools.
Well here are the problems with the computer:
    1. In safe mode the gui does not load. I must use the command prompt to do anything.
    2. Cannot see hidden files at all no matter what I do.
    3. When I press start the entire left side of the menu is blank.
    4. Recycle Bin does not work. I can not drag anything into it nor can I view the contents of it. I cannot scan it with Norton either. The icon is the one where it has stuff in there.
    5. Activex does not work.
    6. Some of the cleaners will not work in safe mode after the initial install and run.
    7. Norton firewall and anti virus do not turn on in normal mode.
    8. Computer is running slow.

I dont know what else to do. I am really leaning on just reformatting and starting fresh. Please help.

Here are the hijack this , runkeys, and newfiles logs.

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please install HijackThis into the folder requested in step 7 of the READ ME. You have it installed exactly where we requested not to install it. Do this before continuing.

    Uninstall the below software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 1
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 7
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 8
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.1_02
    Java 2 SDK, SE v1.4.1_02
    VSAdd-in for Internet Explorer
Continue by downloading two tools we will need

    - Process Explorer

    - Pocket KillBox

Extract them to their own folder somewhere that you will be able to locate them later.

IMPORTANT: You should print or save the below locally, so you can refer to them while offline. You must exit all browsers before running the below steps and it would be best if you actually physically unplug your cable to the internet, reboot, and do not run anything but what I give you to do. Also it would be good to exit all processes and items in your System tray.

Do the above before continuing! Okay unplug your cable now.

Make sure you have rebooted in Normal Mode (do not open any other processes)

    - Run Process Explorer

In the top section of the Process Explorer screen double click on winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen. Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Once you see this screen click on each instance of mljjh.dll once and then click the kill button. After you have killed all of the mljjh.dll under winlogon click ok. (If you do not find the dll, just continue on.)

Next double click on explorer.exe and again click once on each instance of mljjh.dll and kill it. (If you do not find the dll, just continue on.)

    Now just exit Process Explorer.

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {05B27BC0-9404-B0AF-7D56-B6CE1CE8B7C5} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\bvj.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1DAEFCB9-06C8-47c6-8F20-3FB54B244DAA} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\nmdcgvta.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {46A4E9D9-B30E-452A-8157-DBBEC8573B03} - C:\Program Files\VSAdd-in\VSAdd-in.dll
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {8A1E6DF2-AFB8-4945-9A69-AF2792AF0CD8} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljjh.dll
    O3 - Toolbar: &VSAdd-in - {74DD705D-6834-439C-A735-A6DBE2677452} - C:\Program Files\VSAdd-in\VSAdd-in.dll
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MSConfig] C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries\MSConfig.exe /auto
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: keylog - keylog.dll (file missing)
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: mljjh - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljjh.dll
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: winpsa32 - winpsa32.dll (file missing)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Now run Pocket Killbox by doubleclicking on killbox.exe
Choose Tools > Delete Temp Files and click Delete Selected Temp Files.
Then after it deletes the files click the Exit (Save Settings) button.
NOTE: Pocket Killbox will only list the added files it is able to find on the system. So when you do the below, if some files do not show in the list after pasting them in, just continue.

    Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.
    • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    c:\documents and settings\joel\local settings\temp\YARlDh9.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\ms04678242727.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\elitepop06.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\tgwli.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\win3209272767824.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\w02b5c96.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\twinqpem.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drvmos.dll
    c:\windows\system32\dwdsregt.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ulqeqt.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\secsrvrc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ulqeqt.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljjh.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\hjjlm.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\hjjlm.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\hjjlm.ini2

    • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
    • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt.
If you receive a PendingFileRenameOperations prompt, just click OK to continue (But please let me know if you receive this message!).

If Killbox does not reboot just reboot your PC yourself.

After reboot locate the below folders and delete if found:
    C:\Program Files\VSAdd-in
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\mzrq

Also delete all files and subfolders in the below folders except ones from the current date (Windows will not let you delete the files from the current day).
    c:\documents and settings\joel\local settings\temp

Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.

    1. GetRunKey
    2. ShowNew
    3. HJT

Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Thank you for your help. I could not add the fixme.reg to the registry. When I tried, Windows said "Cannot import......error accessing the registry. I am saving the file like you said and copied & pasted exactly how it was written.
    Thanks again.

    Do you have administrator priviledges?

Does regedit work? (Click Start, Run, and enter regedit and click OK! Does the Registry Editor open up?)

Complete all the other steps in the procedure anyway!!!

I have admin rights and regedit is working.
    Here are the new files.
On a side note I believe I am the only user on this computer that this is happening with. Should I just delete this account and make a new one?

Thank you for all your help.

Sorry for the delay. Chas is taking a much deserved vacation right now.

Download the file attached to this post and extract the reg file to your desktop.

Run the FixReg.reg file as above and click YES to allow to merge with the registry. Let me know if this works any better.

Some of the software you have installed may be blocking registry imports. Norton, Spy Sweeper, and/or Spyware Doctor (maybe Bazooka too) could be getting in the way. You really should not have both Spy Sweeper and Spyware Doctor installed anyway. Also Spyware Doctor is old and out of date. Are Spy Sweeper and Spyware Doctor paid versions?

You need to have HJT fix the below lines:
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O16 - DPF: {8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93} (Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0) -
    O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0014-0001-0002-ABCDEFFEDCBA} (Java Runtime Environment 1.4.1_02) -

Thanks for all your help. I found out that I was the only user to have these problems, so I just made another user account and deleted the problematic one. Works like a champ now.
To answer your questions, no spyware doctor and spy sweeper are not paid versions. I will be deleting the spyware doctor per your opinion.
Again thanks to all who have helped. This is a very useful forum.
