    Hey guys,

I'm a newb to building your own Desktop PC and need a bit of help, I have a rough idea of what i want, and i need your input.

My computer would be made up of

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K (best price i found was $280 USD)

    GRAPHICS: GeForce GTX560 ($257)

    HDD:Seagate 1TB SATA 3.5 Hard Disk Drive ($67)

    RAM: 8GB Kingston DDR3 1333 MHZ 2x4GB (PC10600 CL9) Desktop ($100)

MOTHERBOARD: I need your help in finding a suitable mother board

COOLING: I need your help in finding suitable cooling devices

    POWER: would 850W be enough??

I need a motherboard that supports WiFi, Bluetooth, Bluray and USB 3.0

Do I get any fans with these components and are they sufficient?
Thanks for your tweaks and inputs :)

Ya, that looks about right.:major Are you going to overclock this machine?

I like and use the ASUS P8P67 Pro though I've had some issues with it. I'm not sure about all those wi-fi thingees.;) Do some homework eh?:p;)

Cooling? I like the Corsair H50 or the Hyper 212+, again depends on what you want to do, stay at stock or push that multi to 50?:-D You get the standard Intel fan with the retail box, you could always go OEM if you wish.

PSU: 850W is a tad too much IMO but if you can afford a quality power supply then go for it. Unless you're planning on SLI, then defo go for the 850. .

I think that covers it on my end. Nice machine man, enjoy.:)

Ok so my current build is going to be ( I have listed the best prices I could find)
Is everything here compatible with each other? Are there any changes in hardware that are recommended ?

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K $280 -- will be over-clocking. Can you recommend how much i should over-clock it based on the Corsair H60 and 2 12cm fans. Can you also recommend power supply for this system.

    MOBO:Asus P8P67-M PRO $181

    RAM: 8GB Kingston DDR3 1333 MHZ 2x4GB $100

Disk drive :Seagate 1TB SATA 3.5 Hard Disk Drive $67

    Optical drive: LG blu-ray reader/writer GGW-H20L $87

    GRAPHICS:GeForce GTX560 $257

    cooling: Corsair H60: $115

The H60 can handle anything the 2600K can throw at it but at $115 is waaayyy too much to pay considering how much you're paying for the CPU, $75 in Canada. Wherea bouts you live, just country is enough.

PSU: I like the Corsair TX series, others have their favourites. Depends how much you can afford and how much power you'll eventually need. Use the calculator that mjnc posted and double what it says since you're OC'ing it.

How much to overclock it?: That all depends on the luck of the draw. Check out the official ASUS overclocking guide. Only you can decide how far you want/can go. BTW, do not plug in other peoples numbers, start with the AI Tweaker to give you an idea(mine was 4.43GHz) and then slowly work your way up.(I'm at 4.7 GHz). Just realize that you're breaking all warranty rules here and if something fails then you'll be out some extra cash.;)

Any mid/full-tower ATX case will be fine with adequate cooling. I like my CoolerMaster Sniper and CM690, the haf's look good too. All depends on how much you want to pay.

Casewise I have Antec 900. Looks good and cools like a beast!

I will also second a Corsair supply. I have HX470 which wont be beefy enough for your system but you can get higher. My advice is work out what power you need to run your system then get the best quality that your budget allows. Poor quality PSU can cause a plethera of problems when they fail and are difficult to diagnose.

The GTX560 relates to the chip on the card. Manufacturers buy the chips from nVidia so essentially ther are all the same. The difference comes in with the other components on the board. By and large if the chip is the same and it has the same amount of RAM you can expect broadly the same performance. The difference will come in the quality of the card but mainly the core clock and the memory clock. The faster the better... and the more expensive. There are a few other factors but in general look at the clock speeds and pick the card with the highest rates within your budget.
