Help Me If You Can!

Every time I start windows XP i get a pop-up that says "Error Loading C:\WINDOWS/image.dll.

How do I remove this and fix the problem? Any help is appriciated!

from what I've found it's a good thing. run Hijack this and see if the following exists in the log:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Image] C:\WINDOWS\image.dll

if it doesn't exist then do the following:
go to start>run and type msconfig then hit enter. Go to the startup tab and uncheck image.dll then click ok and restart.

Did what you said but cannot find the file in Hijack this...I forgot to mention I had 2 of the windows popping up and that one is now gone after goin got msconfig in the run file....help me get the last one off!

Ok, sorry I didn't do a good job of explaining what I meant, if you couldn't find the entry in your hijack this log, then do the msconfig thing. Are both popups C:\Windows\image.dll couldn't load? or does the other pop-up have a different path?

 

Hijack this is NOT the first step to try in removing spyware.

Also please keep your posts in one spot so that you can receive the best help possible and everyone knows what is being suggested to fix the problem as I noticed that you have asked for help in the spyware forum for this same problem. C:\WINDOWS\image.dll
