Help Me !! Please wht can I do

I partition my laptop vista and installed mandriva 2008 spring, and tried the 3D effect after that my system was not the same again.
Problems
1) At times the Dell Logo shows at the boot up then show copyright microsoft corporation a normal,but sometimes it just shoes a black screen and inprison 1521 at the bottom but still boots and works.
2) To add to that my system goes on blck screen at random but is still on.I know because the music still plays and the processor still flashes,and I have to reboot to see again.
* my system Dell Inspiron 1521
AMD Athlon 64 x2
Ati Graphics X1270

You can search for bugs associated with your Graphics Card at Mandriva for a fix. After looking, if your issue is not posted put in a new request and attach the required log.

I have unistalled the mandriva and the problem is there .what can i still do.And reinstalled it virtualbox and is working fine but no 3D effect. So what can I still do
