I have a wireless Linksys router WRT54GX. I want to be able to print from my laptop to my desktop. I clicked on properties and clicked share printer and file. But when I look for my printer on printers I can't find the printer

First need to know what operating sytem you are running on both computers. Second are both cards on the same network ( example default or linksystem as the ssid, the name you gave to your wireless network. If you are running Win xp go to control panel click on the network set up wizard and go through setup. Choose my computer connects through another computer or another device. Enter in your network name and do this setup on both computers. When it ask you to make a set up disk just click no and finish, then go to other computer and do the same. If you need more help post back

On the computer that the printer is hooked up to, right-click on the printer in Printers & Faxes, select the Sharing tab, and select Share This Printer, then give the printer a name. Click OK. Go over to the other machine, create a printer def, point it at the name of the printer (ie, \\MyComputer\MyPrinter), and you should be ready to go. :)

Are you sure you have your network configured properly? Can you see the other computer(s) on your network & any shared folders that each may have?

If not, you're just sharing an internet connection. In the "Network Connection" under your Control Panel you should see a link on the left that's called something like "Set up a home (or local area) network." Follow that wizard to help you fix this, if this is indeed the problem.
