Help - missing or corrupt file

    Reight8 has some more knowledge for his home computer, running XP Pro, and it might save him some heartache, at another time.:wine

    Your original problem came whenthe laptop was shutting down on you whilst hibernating, and , apparently, corrupting Windows-
    Studiot has given you advice that will be very lucky to find elsewhere, that could stop you having the same problem on your Home PC, as it is running XP Pro.
    It is also useful for others following a thread, to fix a similar problem.
    Don't forget to run a hard drive diagnostic on that laptop.

    I'm not sure if I followed everything here correctly but DON'T attempt to use the key for the XP pro version on the laptop if it's possible not to until you get over the work load and DON'T attempt to download updates for the laptop with that key. The key and details of the computer using that key are sent to Microsoft when you do updates and it will show that two different machines are using the same key. THEN you end up with your key on the pirated keys list and no more updates...
