I've ran all the tests in the Read Before You Post file. Here are my results from Hijack This, Bitdefender, and Panda ActiveScan. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

You have a load of problems and each user account on this PC may have infections. You will need to clean all user accounts to be sure all malware is removed. Also, you need to be more careful (or consider not using) with all the P2P or torrent downloads. They could be the root of all your problems.

Before we can get started cleaning up all the malware, we need to get a little more info from the below.

Let's get an installed programs list from HijackThis!
    • Run HijackThis, click Open the Misc Tools section
    • Click Open Uninstall Manager
    • Click Save List (generates uninstall_list.txt)
    • Click Save, to save it to a file where you can find it.
    • Attach the uninstall_list.txt file to your next message.

    Download FindQool by LonnyRJones
    • Extract the files and place the FindQool folder into root folder of your hard disk. This is usually C:\
    • Open the folder and run Qlocate.bat
    • attach the contents of the txt.log which will open when the scan is finished.

Do you have any idea what the below install program is from?

    Internet Explorer Default Page

You have a couple malware items to uninstall. So open Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and uninstall the below:
    Enhanced Ads by Zeno removal
    MediaTickets by OIN
    Zeno Search Assistant removal

You also need to download and install the current Sun Java version from here: http://java.com/en/

After install the new Sun Java, uninstall the below old versions:
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_03

Other fixes to follow in my next post!

You had an error while trying to run FindQool.bat. Your PC is missing the AUTOEXEC.NT file which is a necessary file for your OS.

From the three lines below, choos the link which is appropriate for your OS and download the file and then locate it and run it.

For Windows XP Pro: download and run XPproFix
For Windows XP Home: download and run XPHomeFix
For Windows 2000: download and run: W2KFix

Afterwards, rerun findqool.bat and post a new log so we can continue.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I lost my internet connection last night. I'm at work right now, but will follow your instruction tonight when I get home. Thanks again for your help!

Okay complete the steps in both messages # 4 and 5 and then attach the new log from findqool.bat.

Also attach a new HJT log.

Okay, I still don't have my internet connection back. I talked to my ISP and they said everything is fine on their end. When I try to open IE I get "this page cannot be displayed" error. Also, whenever I reboot my computer I get an error message saying "C:\WINDOWS\System32\icddefff.dll can not be loaded or is missing". I updated my Sun Java, ran the XP fix, and ran the FindQool.bat. Here are my HJT and FindQool logs:

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

Make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).

Please run HijackThis and click on the Open the Misc Tools Section button on the open page. Then select Open process manager on the left-hand side. Look for the following process (or processes) and one at a time kill them by selecting it and then click Kill process. Then click yes.
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\svchostsys\svchostsys.exe

After killing all the above processes, click Back.
Then please click Scan and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00000000-167B-41bc-95FF-86A07B14712C} - (no file)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
Boot into safe mode and use Windows Explorer to delete (some items may not be found - just continue):
    C:\Program Files\Comet Cursor <-- the whole folder
    c:\program files\axvenore <-- the whole folder
    c:\program files\pecarlin <-- the whole folder
    C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3 <-- the whole folder
    c:\program files\EQAdvice <-- the whole folder
    c:\program files\Media Access <-- the whole folder
    C:\Program Files\FCAdvice <-- the whole folder
    C:\Program Files\outlook <-- the whole folder
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\svchostsys <-- the whole folder
C:\Documents and Settings\Aaron Richter\Local Settings\Temp <--- delete all files in this Temp folder
C:\Documents and Settings\Danielle Richter\Local Settings\Temp <--- delete all files in this Temp folder
    c:\windows\system32\bk.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dwdsregt.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\he3bbcff.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\icddefff.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\irssyncd.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\LzioMediaUpdater.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\ntkgmxdA.exe

If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. If it is, uncheck it and try again. Other wise open Task Manager and kill the process if running then delete the file.

Now if running Win XP goto c:\windows\Prefetch and delete all files in this folder.
Now run Ccleaner (installed while running the READ ME FIRST).

Now we need to Reset Web Settings:
    1. If you have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, goto step 2. If not, skip to step 3.
    2. Now right click on your desktop Internet Explorer icon and select Properties. Then click the Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK. Then skip step 3.
    3. If you do not have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, click Start, Control Panel (for some systems it may be Start, Settings, Control Panel), Internet Options, Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK.
Now reboot in normal mode and post a new HJT log.

Make sure you tell me how things are working now.

Reminder Note: Once we have determined you are malware free you will need to disable System Restore, reboot, and re-enable system restore per step 1 of the READ & RUN ME. This only applies to if using WinXP or WinMe.

    You're log is clean!

Are Ewido and Spy Sweeper paid versions or free trial versions?

  12. rscale

    rscale Private E-2

That's great news about my log! The Ewido and Spy Sweeper programs are both free trial versions. Should I delete them?

  13. chaslang

chaslang MajorGeeks Admin - Master Malware Expert Staff Member

Yes! Since you have Windows Defender installed, you should uninstall both Ewido and Spy Sweeper trials which will expire anyway. Using all 3 of these puts a heavy load on system resources.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to go back to step 1 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points. Then reboot and enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

After that, you should work thru the below link:
