Help needed for new Ipod Shuffle owner, please.

Hi, I have a problem trying to import my Audible books onto my shuffle. I have stored my books on Itunes and they are in my 'Audible' folder. I have my shuffle showing in my 'Devices' and I thought it was just a case of dragging the books from my audible folder into my device.
It must be my age but I'm stuck and nothing I try will work. Would some kind person please advise me how to drag books onto my shuffle? Is Itunes a 'drag and drop' type of storage system? If I press the 'Autofill' button, nothing happens.

Could the problem be that I have downloaded my books onto my grandsons Itunes ?

I'm sure there is a simple answer to what I'm doing wrong but it's becoming a pain trying to work this out. Any advice welcomed.

this is what i found when researching your problem, i don't have an ipod so i could not test it to see if it works but searching google this is what they suggested....
Do not use AudibleManager AT ALL to transfer your Audible files to the iPod. You will download them with AudidbleManager, then import them into iTunes (drag & drop or import), then transfer to iPod like any other file.

If the Itunes store has a better answer post back that way next time someone ask the question we can reference it to see if it works.

 

To be blunt, my trip to the Apple store in town was a waste of time! Nice young lad but as clueless as I was. Only suggestion, 'Book a slot with a genius sometime'

Well, last night I managed to move my books to my shuffle but please don't ask me how I did it!

I'm going to pop back into Apple soon and ask what I need to do.
