Hello! My computer just started acting pretty weird. Even though I keep all updates up to date and run full scan twice a week and do all kinds of things for maintenance seems like I got some kind of malware though. I was using mcafee security suite, but I stopped trusting it after running panda online scan and it told me I had some kind of adware that I dont remember the name. I realized that a couple of weeks ago my macafee site advisor stopped working just out of the blue and asked me to reinstall it from square one. Since I updated firefox to version 3.04 my problems started. Browsing is kinda slow and pages dont load correctly many times. Other times pages after being loaded keep loading and dont really change. It happens a lot when I am signing in to something that needs a password, like e-mail and so on. Since I use my computer to work I need it to be on perfect shape. Please help me solve this problems. Thank you very much! One thing after running msconfig, cant get my pc to connect to internet, so I had to change it back. Thanks.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Follow the guide below and attach the logs requested so that our malware experts can review them and issue you some tailored removal instructions for any malware they find. Msconfig, should only be used in a troubleshooting senario and not for startup managment, so do make sure all startups are enabled in it.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
