Help New Laptop

    Help I got a new dell 1300 inspiron and was deleteing some of the software that came with it and was told to restart and now it says <windows root>\system32\hal.dll AND missing please reinstall a copy of the above file. Where can I doanload this please help and then how do I install it As always thanks in advance....Bobby

    It also will not start up, not in safe mode or nothing what can I do....Please help

    Reinstall the OS, and quit mucking around in System32 directory. You can contact Dell for a "Clean XP" cd for a minimal charge.
