help new router

hello again,i need help finding a new router please,i have a xbox and a pc wireless quite a distance away from the router and 2 pcs connected to the router wired,i cannot go wired with the wireless as its to far away and cannot use plug and plays as the electrics is on a seprate ring,so wireless it has to be,so can somebody reccomend me a good router for a xbox and a pc ,money isnt a great problem as long as the router does the job thanks.

 

Since I'm not sure of your budget or location, my general suggestion is to check reviews on Newegg.com and Amazon.com for specific models. My experience is you can no longer guess what will be a good router by brand name alone. My only brand advice is to avoid Linksys; some of their newer models try to trick you into signing up for extra services when you set up the router.

If transmitting/receiving a long distance, you should look for a model without fixed or hidden antennas. If the stock antennas can be unscrewed, high-gain antennas (such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833980017) can make a major difference in extending the signal.
