Help On: Auto-Restart, then bluescreen

    Dear forumers,

    am really lost and would greatly appreciate your help.

    Am running on Vista 64bit now, got infected (I dunno by what) :confused

    My symptons are: On the login screen, if I log in, the system will auto restart in 5 to 8 secs (i have kaspersky anti-virus and it will have a msg saying that components cannot be started).

    If i do not log in and stay on the Login screen, the whole goes blue in 5 to 8 secs.

    I tried running the system in Safe mode and everything is fine.

    Would greatly appreciate help on how about to rectify this. :cry

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    This actually does not sound like a malware problem. It sounds more like a Windows Operating System problem. We could check you system for malware using a few tools if you wish but I tend to doubt that we will find anything causing this problem. You may actually be better off looking at your Event Viewer log ( see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427 ) and reporting what is being found in the Software Forum. You may also want to try uninstalling Kaspersky since you said it is having problems and also it would be more helpful if you told us exactly what components cannot be started.
