Ok, so im a hardware noob and I have a couple questions before I get an upgrade. I need 256mb RAM just because I can't afford any more than $45. I want to know if I can add the 256 to my 128 right now making it to 384mb of ram. I'm not sure if my Sony Vaio (2001) has 2 slots for it.

The other question is which purchase of RAM(256) is best for gaming... remember 30-50 doller range...

    system specs:
    64mb nvidia video
    pentium iii 866mhz
    133mhz front side bus
    128mb PC-133 SDRAM (expandable to 512)

    thanks for any comments

you need to look up your laptops model # if you want to be sure of your specs, this is good quality RAM and not to expensive.

The only problem you might run into is if 2/2 slots are full, it is pretty typical for laptops to only have 2 slots.

oh, well in that case you should just open it up and see if there are 4 slots, or get everest home edition from majorgeeks, it should be able to tell you.
