I'm not much of a techie, so i don't really know how to explain this, but i'll try my best to describe everything.

    Here goes.

    My system is a Pentium 4 2.4 GHZ, 1 GB RAM, and a Geforce fx 5200 128mb
The motherboard is old with an AGP video card slot instead of the new PCI-E slots these days.

I play World of Warcraft just fine with this, about 30fps.

Just the other day, I upgraded to a Geforce 7300 GT 512mb because that's the max they said I could get for my AGP slot. I went home, installed AND updated the drivers, and tried to play WoW. Here is where the situation goes crazy. My framerate dropped to single digits. about 2-9 fps. I tweaked and overclocked and even deleted the old entry for the 5200 in the device manager (with show hidden), but still no help. :|

I got pissed and in an attempt to play WoW again, I reinstalled my old FX 5200. I downloaded some new drivers for it, and started WoW. My fps remained constantly at 2-9fps. :| I downloaded almost every "update" i can find on the video cards. I don't know what to do now...

I really really need help. Any and all help is appreciated. :)

Check the in-game video settings. When the new card was installed, WoW may have adjusted them to higher levels, turning up detail and whatnot. You'd probably need to turn the settings down to the lowest possible point, or maybe just above that, this is especially true for the 5200. With the 7300, you may be able to run the game at slightly higher settings.
Who is "they"? And "they" are wrong. If you have the money, you could have purchased a MUCH better card. Here's a few:

On the other hand, "they" may have suggested the 7300 due to limits imposed by your power supply. Any of the cards above requires a minimum of a 400w power supply, and in my opinion, 500w would be better....
