    I have an inquiry. I cannot load Windows XP onto my computer anymore. Even when trying to run in safe mode i cannot load it. A blue screen pops up that reads as follows:

    STOP: c0000218 {registry file failure}
    The registry cannot load the hive (file):
    \SystemRoot\system32\Config\SOFTWARE
    or its log or its alternate
    it is corrupt, absent or not writtable....

    After that screen comes up the process just begins over with the reboot screen. I have tried Safe mode and starting it in the last state it was in as it states on that page, but and I can not even start my laptop in any of these.

    I did not download anything besides of a picture yesterday from a webpage and I was only online with my email, so I am confused. When I went to bed last night I put the computer in Hibernate Mode and went to bed. When my husband tried turning it on this morning this is what we've gotten.

    I have an XP Pavillion laptop. If you need more information, please let me know and I will provide you with the correct information. Thank you in advance.
