Help please I've got problems

    When I startup windows firewall notifies me that it is off, so I switch it back on. Then next time I startup it is off again. also I have an icon on my taskbar next to the clock called BDA TV monitor which I cannot get rid of or find it's source. I have run the Malware removal proceedures.
    Counterspy would not run so I ran AVG instead
    Panda also would not run
    I have a 4mg broadband connection and run NOD32 antivirus
    help or advice would be appreciated

    I've sorted out the BDA TV monitor and I now believe the problem with windows firewall is to do with gcasDtServ.exe, this file is showing as not responding when I try to shut down, any ideas please

    You skipped some steps in the READ ME!
    • you did not install and run CCleaner
    • you did not install and run Spybot Search & Destroy
    • you also did not uninstall the below old Sun Java version as requested in step 6
      • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
      • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11
      • Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_13
    You should not even be using the Windows Firewall since it does not provide adequate protection. Also you should not be running Microsoft AntiSpyware (which is what the gcasDtServ.exe file is for) since it was discontinued quite awhile ago by Microsoft. You should have uninstalled Microsoft AntiSpyware long ago. Uninstall it now.


    You are not having malware problems! You are having problems because you have not updated your software properly.
