Open up again ( after powering off and earthing yourself) and check all power leads are seated correctly, and include power leads to hard Drives, and while you are there reseat your memory. if no improvement post back ;)

re-seat means to ensure that they are properly inserted in their connectors by taking them out and re-inserting them, or at least pushing down on them to ensure they are in all the way. you should also check to ensure any expansion cards are correctly seated (inserted) and that the fans are actually working when you power up, especially the cpu fan.

Just an afterthought but are the fans blowing in the proper direction. Front fans should flow inward, back and top fans outward, the CPU fan should blow down onto the heatsink.

the bios usually has a section that displays temperatures as well as fan speeds, consult your mb manual if you are not sure where it is there, or have a good hunt thru the bios setting screens.

software for windows that will display temps includes motherboard monitor, sisoft sandra and others, but you of course need to stay up long enough to run them. once you figure out how, you can use the software to monitor and alarm on high temps in future.

As kronckew says look in your manual to see where in the bios the temperature is showing. re-enlighten me .. the computer was running OK up to when you opened the case to clean the fans..?? did you take off the heatsink to clean, (thats the one that blows directly onto your Processor.) Look to see that the blade angle is facing toward the processor.
