Help please

Ok, I just ran across this problem with my registry. When I look at my running processes there are five separate SVChost.exe's running and a total of 55-60 processes. I don't know enough to say whether this is definitely too many, but it definitely seems like a lot and my virtual memory is constantly needing to be expanded. Now I ran a free scan of my registry and found 800 errors and problems. Of course, this program will scan, but I have to pay to fix all of the errors and right now I don't even know if it's safe to buy anything online right now and I really don't have the money. Does anyone know where I can get a free program that is legitimate and will have all of the features?

Oh yeah, one more! NTREGOPT:http://www.majorgeeks.com/NTREGOPT_d4824.html after cleaning the reg, run this to optimize your registry and remove any 'slack' left by the cleaning process. Requires a reboot after optimizing.
