Help please

Hi it has been awhile since I have been here, I am running windows XP and I have been trying to do my scans for malware removal, I did everything to start my scans-------------------but Combofix.exe will not finish the scan

this is a message that I get

the application failed to initialize properly (0Xc0000135) click on ok to terminate application.

What should I do?:confused

Sorry, things are very crazy here.
Do you have another thread going? If so, please go back to that thread and continue by skipping Combofix. Do whatever you can of the READ & RUN ME and try and get us the MGlogs.zip which are produced when you first run the MGTools. If we can see what's going on with your computer, that will help.

Hi babyturk,

Did you run Combofix? If so, could you post that log as well?

Please do the following:



1) Please disable the guest account if this hasn't been done already.


2) Run CCleaner at the default setting with the Windows tab as the one on top.


3) What are all the cab files directly under C:\Documents and Settings\ ?

4) Go to add/remove programs and uninstall the below:

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9
Java(TM) 6 Update 2"
Java(TM) 6 Update 3

5) Reboot after uninstalling the above.

6) Install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment


7) Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.defaulthomepage.info
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.defaulthomepage.info

Do the following belong to programs you know or want to keep? If not, please fix them as well.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MP4 Player] "C:\Program Files\MP4 Player\mp4Player.exe" hmw
O16 - DPF: {001EE746-A1F9-460E-80AD-269E088D6A01} (Infotl Control) - http://site.ebrary.com.ezproxy.siast.sk.ca/lib/siastlibraries/support/plugins/ebraryRdr.cab
O22 - SharedTaskScheduler: admissibility - {da3b49f6-8c54-4429-a275-21a86dcca413} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\xuoce.dll (file missing)

After you click fix, just close hijackthis.


8) Please run C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat and attach the fresh MGlogs.zip.
