help please

    I can not run a scan disk or error checking what ever its called. I go to my computer right click on C: drive go to tools and click to start it then it says you must restart to run it. So I restart it and it starts up and says scan disk has been cancelled then starts up to windows. I can run a defrag just not a scan disk. Please help.

    HP Omnibook 6100 Laptop
    1.13mhz
    256mbs of ram
    xp pro

    Hi

    Give Scandisk a try from Safe Mode (F8 at boot) to see if it works from there.

    Ok I tried in safe mode it still doesnt work. It says the same thing that it is cancelled Please Help

    Search for a scandisk.log file and delete it then try to run scandisk again.
