help please

i have a problem with install my web cam as i get most of the way to installing it and it then tells me im missing a needed file but it does not tell me what file i need can any1 help please

 

Welcome to MG, but we need more info. System specs, webcam model, what operating system (XP home, XP pro, W98?), what webcam software, etc.

Maybe your install CD is defective. Can you get another copy? Try uninstalling the one you are trying to install, then try another re-install? Hope that makes sense. I know what I am trying to say but it looks silly when I type it. Bazza

Have you tried going to the manufacturer's website and downloading a new version of the drivers for your webcam? This can sometimes solve the issue!

 

Hi,

Is the web cam and software made for XP witch I asume you are running, if you are running XP and the driver you are installing for the webcam in not made to work with xp you may get that error.
