help, please

Hi. I'm hoping someone can give me a little advice. I am by no means computer savvy and I'm beginning to worry that some of the problems on this computer have been caused by me! (Yikes, since I'm staying with a friend for a month, and this is not my computer it makes the situation even worse) Okay, I started noticing problems with what I figured was adware, (my pages were constatnly being redirected and I couldn't get the computer to open up with my homepage only about:blank) I got a new version of Norton anti-virus which did not help- I couldn't delete the adware files for some reason. I then downloaded Microsoft Anti-spyware, it cleaned out a few things but now the system seems like its screwed. I can't get into my computer at all. I started this am to get this "DrWatson Postmortem Debugger" thing, so I went into the redirect files (after run) found the file and deleted it. I'm no longer getting the message before my computer shuts down but I still can't get into my computer. Please let me know if I can try something new here.

please forgive me if this is my second reply to you- I just got bumped off. I took the advice from this website, downloaded about:buster (unable to open this), Adaware (I ran this), cswservice remover (couldn't open this), cwshredder (couldn't open this) and hijackthis. I was only able to open Hijackthis in safe mode which I did and immediately got rid of two files I knew were bad because of previous posts on this website. Then I got McAfee Scan for viruses and got rid of some junk, quarantined some other stuff. I still can't get into my computer or open any zipped files. I went to Circuit City, and also called a couple places like Compaq help line and bellsouth service center (nobody is familiar with these problems.) I know this problems not going to fix itself. I go on vacation to Yellowstone in a couple days so if I can't fix this tomorrow its not going to get done anytime soon. I've never brought a computer to a tech service center before, I'm in Key Largo. Do you have any more suggestions?

Attach a current HJT log, if you can only do it in safe mode then we will go from there.
