Help reading files???

First of all, i am not to clever on computer,

What do I need to download or buy or whatever to read things like for instance, i bought a tv which came with a CD with the instuctions on..... The problem is when I try and open this up it just comes up as if its encrypted or something like this %&# and other crap.....

I am running Windows Me... I have tried to download acrobot or whatever they call it, but it says I need a newer version of windows?????

Also I have channel dumps sent to me and they are also coming up encrypted or whatever.

Is there anything I can download so i can read things like this????

Your help would be really appreciated on this, and I hope it makes sense what I have written..........

 

The newer versions of Adobe will not run on old versions of Windows. You can download version 6.0 from here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_adobe_acrobat_reader/12/
There's some other freeware that should work also:
