This is for a different computer than my help request a couple of weeks ago.

I have already done everything in READ & RUN ME FIRST. The first 3 logs will be attached to this post. The next 3 logs will be attached to the next post. Thank you.

By the way, Panda ActiveScan found some problems which it was unable to remove.

Uninstall the Sunbelt CounterSpy trial since we are finished with it now! Then delete the below two folders which may be left behind by the uninstall:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sunbelt Software
    C:\Program Files\Sunbelt Software

    Uninstall the below software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 8
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.1
Kazaa Lite Resurrection 0.0.7.5 <-- should have been uninstalled in step 0 of the READ ME
Kazaa Lite Resurrection 0.0.7.6 <-- should have been uninstalled in step 0 of the READ ME
Viewpoint Media Player <-- should have been uninstalled in step 0 of the READ ME

Run HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {39F7E362-828A-4B5A-BCAF-5B79BFDFEA60} - (no file)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.
    • Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    • Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    • Check the 'Input script manually' box.
    • Click on the magnifying glass icon.
    • Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it in the box that opens:
    • Now click the 'Done' button.
    • Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
    • You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    • A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt
    Now run Ccleaner!

Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.

    1. Avenger
    2. GetRunKey
    3. ShowNew
    4. HJT

Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Reminder Note: Once we have determined you are malware free you will need to disable System Restore, reboot, and re-enable system restore per step 8 of the READ & RUN ME. This only applies to if using WinXP or WinMe.

Thanks! Sorry about missing those programs from step 0 earlier, they are now removed.

Here is my new Avenger, GetRunKey, and ShowNew log.

I continue to have viruses reported by Avast! anti-virus (the last one just a few minutes ago, after all of my malware removal was complete.. I am going to attach that log to the next post so you can take a look.)

HJT and Avast! logs in next post.

As I just said, I continue to have viruses reported by Avast! anti-virus (the last one just a few minutes ago, after all of my malware removal was complete.. I am going to attach that log to this post so you can take a look.)

Here is a new HiJackThis log and my Avast! Warning log.

As you'll see in the Avast! log, the same 1 or 2 viruses have been detected since March 27, almost daily. I always do the recommended action "move to chest" but they just keep coming back. They are found in files "spmario.exe" and "keygen.exe". I'm not sure why they keep re-appearing after they are "moved to chest".

Because I am still having the virus reported by Avast!, I have not yet disabled system restore and rebooted.

    Thank you!

That's due to downloading cracks and or keygens which is a bad idea. These particular items may not really be the problem though since they are just from Windows Desktop Search. You may need to see if these files are actually located on your PC.

Boot in safe mode and see if you can delete the below folder:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Default\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Desktop Search\Temp\rssgthrsvc

You forgot to delete the below folder.
    C:\Documents and Settings\Default\Application Data\Sunbelt Software

All of your logs are clean. Are you still having problems?
