Help! Virus/Trojans Attacked my PC

Help!!!!

Earlier this week I started to notice that when I clicked on an icon the program would never come up. I then looked for my antivirus program and saw that it was not running. I tried to run it, but it would not scan. I also noticed a new program called antivirus 2008 xp on my desktop.

I then started my computer in safe mode, I was able to run the program and it found somestuff, but for the life of me I can't remember the trojan names. (preggo brain:confused) After deleting the files I went tried to access my computer normally, and when I started my computer, it started rebooting itself going to the blue screen of deaf about exceeding pages and bogus files.

I pressed f8 to get to normal screen again and noticed that the antivirus and some other program had taken over my started up menu.

I then put Hijack this on my computer, however it would not open. I was able to remove the antivirus from the add/remove and I removed the two programs from the start menu, however my computer is still not working correctly. I have tried several programs to clean them, however nothing works.

Please help. I don't want to have to reformat my computer.
