I am having serious issues with my vista machine

A couple of days ago i booted up my machine and a error popped up saying that my "kernel" file was missing or corrupt. I tried booting in safe mode and other modes and my comp just BSOD me every time.. So i saved my files on another separate HD and formatted my other one, thinking i just would reinstall vista and my problems would be over. Now when i put in the vista Cd in y comp and try to reinstall i get this error
    file:Windows/system32/config/system
    Status:0xc0000001
Info: windows failed to load because system registry file is missing or corrupt.

    PLZZZZZZ help me

    1. Brand and model of computer
    2. Did you format the original hard drive?
    3. Is the disk you are using a full Vista install or is it a recovery disk from the manufacturer?
    4. Have you checked to be sure that the optical drive is set as the first boot device?

If you wish to do a clean install of Windows:
Download "Darik's Boot and Nuke" (dban) and burn to floppy or CD. You need to boot from this media ... so, this is an unknown ? .... and ensuring that there is ONLY the one hard drive connected in the box (because it will nuke every hard drive attached), type in "Autonuke" and press Enter and let it run. This will ensure a clean and properly prepared hard drive for a "next life". You may wish to run a diagnostic utility to test the drive. Then begin the Windows install with a partition and format with the default settings.
    Download (dban-1.0.7)
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/dban/
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/dban/files/

If perchance, you cannot get a floppy or CD to boot at all, I suggest you try using a bootable USB device ... this has been shown to work, where the other methods have failed. You may need to make the appropriate alterations within BIOS, to enable this option.
